Yes. Each award is judged independently. However, we do encourage you to consider which category best represents your work and achievements in the past year.
Yes. Previous award winners and finalists will not be treated differently during the 2017 judging process and we encourage all nominees to enter again. However, we remind all nominees that judges will be considering information provided that’s relevant to their achievements since April 2016.
Changing jobs does not make your nomination invalid as we judge finalists and winners based on achievements from the previous 12 months. However, should you have a change of organisation, job, position or contact details we ask you to send updated contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All Chwarae Teg employees, including the working panel, are bound by the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. All our external judges are required to sign a confidentiality agreement before seeing the shortlisted nominations. Our external judges will only see the nomination forms of finalists. All finalists will be contacted prior to any information being published on our Womenspire webpage.
As we receive hundreds of nominations, a Chwarae Teg working group will determine our short-list of finalists according to the criteria provided for each award. All finalists are then contacted by Chwarae Teg to let them know they’ve been shortlisted for the Awards, and to verify details provided in their nomination forms. This may involve a short telephone interview and reference checks. The list of finalists and their nomination forms are then sent to our external judges for assessment. Finalists will be invited to an interview with the judging panel who will determine the winner for each category based on nomination forms and interviews with the finalists. A short video of each finalist will be recorded at the same time and will be used for publicity purposes.
We ask our judges to inform us of any potential conflicts of interest with the finalists selected. Should there be a conflict the judge will be replaced on the interview panel for that award category.
A Chwarae Teg representative will be in contact to let you know if you’re a finalist and to schedule a panel interview. Interviews are planned for first 2 weeks in May. The winners of each category are NOT informed prior to the Awards ceremony. All finalists are invited to prepare a short speech should they be the winner on the day.
Unfortunately as we expect to receive hundreds of nominations, it will not be possible to provide feedback after the judging process has been completed. However, if you were nominated by someone other than yourself, we will be in touch to let you know.
